Security reminder: Never share your credit card number, CVV, or any payment details in chats, emails, or forms. Our Customer Care team will never ask for this information.
Payment Methods & Issues
We accept the following payment methods at checkout or in store:
- Debit card
- Credit card – Visa, Mastercard, American Express
- PayPal
- Clearpay – Online and in store
- Klarna - In Store only
- Apple Pay
For your security, we verify every payment before it is processed. You may see a 3D Secure screen asking for a code from your bank. Simply follow the on-screen instructions to continue.
Please note: If a payment cannot be verified, we may need to cancel your order to keep your account safe.
Payment authentication (also called 3D Secure) is an extra security step to confirm it is really you making the purchase.
You may be asked to enter a one-time code or password sent by your bank. If you are unsure what to do, contact your card provider directly. We do not control this process and are unable to override it.
Your order is only confirmed once your bank approves the payment.
A declined payment is usually caused by a small error. Here is what to check:
- Card details: Make sure the card number, expiry date, and CVV are correct.
- Accepted payment method: We accept Visa, Mastercard, Amex, PayPal, Clearpay, and Apple Pay.
- Your bank: Your bank may have blocked the payment. Contact them directly to find out why.
If you keep seeing an error and no payment has been taken, try again or use a different payment method. If a payment was taken but your order was not confirmed, contact us with the last 4 digits of your card.
When you place an order, we place a temporary hold (called an authorisation) on your card. This is not a charge. The actual payment is only taken when your order is shipped.
If your order is cancelled, the hold will be released automatically within a few days depending on your bank.
If you believe you have been charged twice and your order is still active, contact Customer Care and we will look into it for you.
- By card: A hold is placed on your account when you order. You are only charged when your items are shipped.
- By PayPal: Payment is taken immediately when you place the order.
- By Clearpay: Your first instalment is taken at the time of purchase. The remaining instalments follow the Clearpay schedule.
Apple Pay
You can use Apple Pay to shop at Foot Locker online and in the app. Add your eligible card to your Wallet app for a faster, contactless checkout.
At checkout, select Apple Pay as your payment method and confirm with Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode.
Using a desktop? Apple Pay is only available on Apple computers (MacBook, MacBook Air, or iMac) using the Safari browser. It is not available on other browsers.
To set up Apple Pay, open the Wallet app on your iPhone and follow the on-screen instructions, or add your card through your bank's app.
If your Apple Pay payment was declined, try the following:
- Make sure the card linked to Apple Pay is valid and has sufficient funds.
- Check you are using a supported browser (Safari on Apple devices only for desktop).
- Try completing your purchase with a different payment method.
If the issue continues, contact your card provider for help.
Our standard return policy applies to all Apple Pay orders. You can return items using our Ready Returns portal.
Refunds will be returned to the card linked to your Apple Pay. Please allow 3 to 10 working days for the refund to appear.
For full details on what can be returned, visit our How to return page.

Yes. You can combine Clearpay with a gift card, cash (in store), or a promotional code.
If you miss a payment, Clearpay will stop you from making further purchases until the balance is cleared. You have until 11pm the following day to repay before a late fee is applied.
Late fee structure:
- An initial fee of £6 is charged.
- A further £6 is added if the payment is not made within 7 days.
- For orders under £24, the total fee will not exceed £6.
- For orders of £24 or more, total fees will not exceed 25% of the order value or £24, whichever is less.
If you are unable to make a payment, contact Clearpay directly as soon as possible.
Clearpay orders follow our standard return policy for both online and in-store purchases.
Once Foot Locker confirms receipt of your return:
- Any upcoming Clearpay instalments will be cancelled.
- Any payments already made will be refunded to your original card.
Please note: Until we confirm receipt of your return, you are still responsible for making your Clearpay payments on time.
We cannot provide cash refunds or exchanges for Clearpay orders. For more details, visit our How to return page.
Clearpay orders are delivered within our standard delivery timeframes, the same as any other Foot Locker order. Visit our Shipping & Delivery page for estimated timelines.
